Subject: Director of Software Quality Assurance at Sandvine Michael Jacobs posted a job: Director of Software Quality Assurance at Sandvine "If interested, Please contact Michael Jacobs at mjacobs@sandvine.com Location: Waterloo ON The Director of Software Quality Assurance will be responsible for leading and managing quality assurance efforts and tools development. This includes determining the best methods to test our entire system as it would be deployed by our customers. You will also be responsible for analyzing our products and current test methods to identify areas for improvement. Responsibilities: • Managing a Team of Leads and Individual contributors to create test strategies. • Working with product management, engineering, and sales to determine customer use cases for our solutions. • Validating the strategy with all stakeholders • Implementing the test strategy while leading teams with direct and indirect reports • Assisting in project risk analysis, testing scope and scheduling • Identifying level of test coverage required and weak areas • Liaising with Project Leads and other Departmental Managers on schedule impact, test coverage, etc. • Establishing testing practices and department organization. Ensuring that the group is running at optimal capacity and efficiency. • Prioritizing and allocating resources to multiple projects. • Reporting to the AVP SW QA, acting as a QA point of contact for Global Systems QA of all Sandvine products and solutions • Guide and mentor new team members Qualifications: • University degree in Computer Science or related discipline • Ten years minimum experience in a software/hardware testing and team management role. • Experienced leading in a heavily automated test environment • Knowledge of Unix and scripting tools including Perl and Tcl • Experience with System, Performance and Interoperability Testing • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated career commitment to testing and Quality Assurance • Highly motivated self starter with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision • Proven Team player with solid leadership, project management and negotiation capabilities. • Previous work experience in the networking domain or switching device manufacturing • Experience in Database (Oracle, PostGreSQL) would be an asset."
