Job Description: We are looking for AS400 Consultant based in Slough, UK for one of our esteemed IT services client: Title: AS400 Consultant Location: Slough, UK Duration: 6 Months Rolling Job Description: Role Specific Design & development of software to support change projects & ongoing application management & service improvement, across the whole software lifecycle. Develop software using agreed methodologies, processes, tools & standards. Support Service Management team with Problem Management activities, including diagnosis, resolution, & subsequent service improvement enhancements & fixes. Create specifications, in conjunction with business analysts, team & stakeholders. Ensure Quality standards are achieved, through development & rigorous testing, to ensure Right First Time delivery. Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation to Customer standards. Support customers & business change imperatives by working flexibly (hours, work assignments & prioritisation). Ensure productive, timely & effective delivery of work required to support customers and business change priorities. Provide recommendations for service improvements, strategy, & tactics. o Comprehensive development expertise with IBM platforms iSeries, RPG 4, RPG ILE, Free Format, IBM WebSphere, DB2, MQ, o iSeries /AS400, RPG400, RPGLE, Midas, Embedded SQL, MQ Series, SWIFT, CL400, Office. o Knowledge mainframe / midrange platforms advantageous e.g. iSeries/zSeries, UNIX, Linux & corresponding applications & tools. o Knowledge of Data Warehousing and / or Business Intelligence would be an advantage.
