"YOU CAN WORK OUT OF YOUR HOME OFFICE, BUT WILL HAVE TO TRAVEL TO THE CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS ON THE EAST COAST OCCASIONALLY. THIS IS ABOUT A SIX MONTH ENGAGEMENT, OR MORE, DEPENDING. Requirements: PMO DIRECTOR / CONSULTANT - MUST HAVE SET UP A PMO FROM SCRATCH Prefer consulting background from large firm, acting as key leader/mentor for Fortune 100 as you guided them through Business Process Transformation related to Program Office Management. " Be a leading member of the strategy council to guide the design, formulation, development, implementation, and delivery of a Fortune 10 PMO, Portfolio Management and Project Management. " Work in tandem with client to codify, develop and document policy, standards and guidelines for complex Project Management Processes " Guide and mentor the installation of repeatable practices to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures in the execution of technology projects. " Establish the metrics and monitoring tools to maintain and measure project status, benefits to the business and project ROI " Assist with developing training curriculum to communicate the new framework to a global and diverse audience of Program and Project Managers. " Design stage gates for project planning, risk mitigation, scheduling, estimating, status reporting, and project delivery and completion. " Oversee structure and organization for the management of a complex environment with emphasis on cost, schedule, scope and quality. Directs corrective actions in any area where performance falls below objectives. QUALIFICATIONS " Must have worked with reputable consulting firm [McKenzie, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, Accenture, or reputable boutique firm] with proven experience and solid references to display proven experience launching a global Project Management Office for a Fortune 100 " PMI, MSP, OPM, Prince2 - As much depth in industry best practices as possible " Bachelors a must; Masters Preferred " Ability to work with executives across a global organization, run meetings, set policies, help with program curriculum " Strong governance background for PMO development " Strong Portfolio, Risk, Project and Financial Management background as it comes to bringing forth ROI on projects " Works with Word, Outlook, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and/or similar tools easily " Willing to roll-up sleeves and also help in a direct Project Management role as information, meetings, and documentation are pulled from across the organization. " Good demeanor " Enjoys working hard, winning and delivering excellence. " Experience in IT portfolio management a must " Knowledge of financial concepts, including ability to manage an operating budget • Help Develop best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics. " Coach, mentor, motivate, and train new project team leads, team members, and contractors. " Effectively communicate and manage project expectation to project managers, sponsors, team members, executive management, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion. " Develop method and facilitate process to maintain an overall IT portfolio of activities " Potentially design best practice regular program progress reports for management " Mentor and coach leaders on how to identify and resolve issues and conflicts within and between various project teams " Develop best practices, tools and metrics for Quality Assurance " Excellent presentation/verbal/written communication skills to present technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely to individuals of different backgrounds, technical expertise, and levels of authority " ITIL Certification a Big Plus " Six Sigma a Big Plus"
