The Unified Communication (UC) Implementation Engineer is the overall technical lead for the Planning, Design, and Implementation phases of the UC Implementation project. This position will be engaged during the sales phase to ensure an understanding of the customer’s requirements and technical objectives are understood. They will be the lead in Providing Cisco UCC Services to include: Working with Verizon UC Sales Engineers and Verizon Business Solutions Consultant (BSC) during sales cycle to ensure the opportunities are properly scoped and correct delivery parameters are identified; Review of UCC high-level design, Creation of Low-level design and statement of work (SOW) prior to the delivery to the customer. This includes assessments/ Design, installation /configuration, testing, implementation / implementation support and documentation of UCC as defined in SOW. This position is customer-facing and requires the ability to interface and communicate effectively and professionally at all levels. Working with the best of breed within the industry this is an exciting role utilising cutting edge technologies. Education & Experience Requirements Education: • Bachelor Degree in Electric Engineering, Computer Sciences; or other technical focus is required; or equivalent experience Certifications: • Cisco CCIE Voice Certification, or having passed the written test and lab test preparation in progress • CCVP, CCNP, CCDA, CIPTSS, CWLSS ,MCSE (2K/2K3), MCSA (2K/K3) • Cisco UCCX training/certification and experience Experience: • Experience with design and implementation of Cisco IPT Products, CUCM 6 and 7, UCCX 5 • Experience in dealing with Cisco TAC Required Skills: • Ability to design and implement complex Cisco solutions associated with Unified Communications Manager, Unity and Unity Express, Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) and Cisco Unified Presence. • Able to provide lead technical oversight for the delivery of complex Cisco IPT solutions and troubleshooting support of complex issues that arise during the delivery and implementation phases of solution delivery. • Ability to design and implement Cisco UCC solutions. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Customer-Facing and able to work with various levels of management internally and within customer organizations. • Work with Cisco (TAC), Business Unit (BU) and Channel Partners to address issues. • Able to successfully communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. • Able to accurately assess delivery efforts, tasks and dependencies and deliver solutions on-time and within budgeted hours. • Ability to train and mentor junior engineer resources to ensure they grow into senior engineer resources. • Able to lead and direct junior engineering resources and other technical resources involved in solution delivery to ensure solution delivered on-time, within budget and successfully transition to day-2 support.
