We are looking for mechanically inclined individuals ready to hit the road in our PQS Field Service Engineer / Technician entry level training program for the following locations: • Chicago, IL • Wichita, KS • Los Angeles, CA • Phoenix, AZ • St. Louis, MO • Waukesha, WI • Houston, TX (Technician) This 2 year formal training program will prepare you to assume the role of Field Service Engineer / Technician in one of these established territories. The Field Service Engineer / Technician is a member of the Customer Support Department and is responsible for the installation, maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of Makino machinery at customer locations. Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer / Technician include: • Installing/training, providing technical knowledge and troubleshooting at the customer’s facility • Providing a communication link between the customer and Makino • Creating and developing procedural documentation • Using and understanding the Customer Support computer system • Supporting the Product Specialist on a rotational basis • Supporting the Knowledge Products Team as a subject matter expert • Occasional participation outside of the team product line Qualified Candidates should have a professional image, be a team player and a self-starter with a strong work ethic, and have: • 2 Year Technical degree (Electrical/Automation), 4 year Bachelor’s degree (Electrical/Mechanical Engineering), or mechanical experience via military training • Educational knowledge of electronics is a must • Good electro-mechanical skills (motors, drives, transformers)- required • Excellent communication skills • Rational decision making and problem solving ability • Detail orientation with a high degree of accuracy • Availability for extensive travel during training, and then ongoing travel, depending on customer needs Makino is a world leader in metal cutting and manufacturing technology.
