"Principal Service Managers - London - £45k plus attractive benefits A large government agency is recruiting for skilled professionals to join their consultancy services. The team supports the delivery of many important and cutting edge IT programmes for their 25,000 staff across the globe. Their aim is to help deliver the services that underpin the overarching objectives of the agency and they therefore require additional people to uplift their capability in order to improve their delivery. As such they are now seeking Principal Service Managers to manage one or more National IT products (systems and services) ensuring that the benefits and capabilities of the assigned products meet the evolving business needs of their users. Principal Service Managers will seek to promote, enhance and maintain the success and integrity of the assigned products. The main duties of this role will entail - * Establish and maintain strategic direction of the product / service under your control ensuring service delivers and evolves for the continuing requirements of users * Apply corporate policies on programme, project and service management to define, develop and improve procedures for effective performance * Provide detailed proposed costs and timescales to support the forecast and expenditure for assigned products, and monitoring and reporting against actual expenditure * Monitor and review supplier cost proposals ensuring best value * Maintain and grown productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure products continue to meet business needs * Establish Product Roadmap for next financial year that details the programme of work and deliverables for your service to ensure it meets current and evolving needs of all stakeholders * Responsible for direct line management of one or more staff * Responsible for change management, including requirements analysis and assessing impacy of change on users and key stakeholders The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience within a service management / delivery role. Ideally Prince 2 certified or has strong commercial experience of structured project management methodologies. ITIL Certified or excellent working knowledge of service management in a structured environment. Strong leadership, influencing, negotiating and staff management skills as well as understanding the role of financial, contractual and commercial management in a large organisation. This post is open to UK Nationals, British Nationals (Overseas), British Protected Persons, Commonwealth Citizens, EEA Nationals of other member states and certain non EEA family members and Swiss nationals under the Swiss EU agreement. There must be no employment restriction or time limit on your permitted stay in the UK. You should normally have been resident in the United Kingdom for the last 5 years.
