"IT Services Support Analyst II - Windows 7, Local Access Rights and Printer Consolidation Project Coordinator. The IT Services Team is requesting an IT contractor support to help coordinate its upgrade of all DMAS desktop computing systems to the Windows 7 operating system from Windows XP. Additionally, the IT contractor will champion the Local Access Rights project which will assess all DMASers and their associated administrative rights to their primary DMAS desktop computing system. The VITA/NG IT Partnership will provide the technical hands-on to do the actual work for the operating systems upgrade, however the Agency must be a conduit between the IT Partnership and the DMAS customer. The IT contractor will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day tasks for the totality of both efforts. Additionally, the IT contractor will ensure that the DMAS desktop computing [laptops and desktops] inventory is accurate. The IT contractor will have total ownership of the scheduling for each system touch to included coordination/communication with the user and the Team doing the work. The IT contractor will track lessons learned so that the overall process can improve as it matriculates. The IT contractor will conduct a weekly 30 minute status meeting per the overall effort. The IT contractor will liaison with DMAS IT Services, Technology Applications Group, DMAS OCS, VITA, NG, NG vendors and DMAS customers. The IT contractor will need to have desktop computing system technical support skills, logistical, IT customer service, initiative, self-motivation, Excel, communication and coordination skills. This is a temporary need and will no longer be needed once all DMAS desktop computing systems are upgraded to Win7. Finally and on an as needed basis, the IT contractor will help DMAS right-scope its network printing footprint to include the better use of multi-function devices.
