We are looking for an accomplished intermediate software engineer to join our team. He/she will be an individual contributor as a critical member of a team dedicated to developing our new B2C web site and extending the consumer site with back-end administrative functions and interfaces to rest of the back office (including our MAS-500 ERP system). The ideal candidate will complement the current team that has recently gotten up the Magento learning curve with prior Magento implementation and configuration experience. Job Description: Magento/PHP Software Applications Developer – CONTRACTOR Department: IT Location: West Boylston, MA Requirements Education and Experience: At least 3 years experience in development and implementation using PHP on a project creating a Magento-based web site and ideally experience selecting and implementing Magento extensions. Technical Skills: Heavy focus on PHP, Magento, Magento Extensions, My SQL Full technical knowledge of all phases of the software development lifecycle with recent participation in agile projects. Experience with development tools for continuous software builds, and automated test suites, and a strong build process mindset. Successful candidate will be expected to develop accurate task estimates and perform with on-time delivery of code Prior history of achievement with robust, efficient code development and strong problem solving mind set (debugging and diagnostics). Adept working in a fast-paced, flexible environment. Must be able to take direction from lead developer and be comfortable participating in code reviews Strong background in effective software development practices including test driven design Additional Skills: Excellent oral and written technical communication skills including the ability to create technical specifications that will facilitate code development meeting the needs of the business; to produce technical documentation when required. Strong troubleshooting, decision making and problem solving skills required. Positive attitude toward internal end user (operations staff who are customers of the back office applications) and demonstrating sensitivity to the needs of the business that IT supports.
