"Talented CPG Market Research Manager Needed!! SUMMARY Proactive thought partner needed to plan and direct consumer research activities that support new product initiatives critical to company growth. RESEARCH MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES Lead research to identify and evaluate new product opportunities, providing information and insight to assist in making sound business decisions. Work with internal partners and outside research vendors to develop and execute research plans from study design through presentation of findings and recommendations. Manage qualitative and quantitative research studies in areas of concept, product, and packaging testing and volumetric forecasting. Collect and synthesize industry and consumer trends and provide implications for the business. Build on new product research best practices by searching out new methodologies and introducing them to the company. Effectively manage research project costs and relationships with suppliers. Display excellent interpersonal skills and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. Demonstrate strong problem solving, project management and communication skills. Occasional travel up to 20% required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) required, Masters Degree (MA or MBA) preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience in custom research with consumer packaged goods manufacturer. Working knowledge of syndicated services (Nielsen/IRI scanner and panel) required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret research reports, general business periodicals and professional journals. Ability to write reports, presentations and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to communicate well with others both verbally and in writing. Strong computer skills are necessary for this position including word processing, spreadsheet, Internet, e-mail and presentation software. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
