"Our client is a global engineering group and leader in its field of expertise. An opportunity has arisen within this growing legal team to provide maternity cover for 10 months starting from November, with potential for a permanent role in the future. The role will work within a bids and contracts environment where you will work closely with both customers and suppliers to ensure commercial contractual risks are assessed, monitored and mitigated. You will take a specialist role within the team of identifying possible claim situations and seeking to avoid them, whilst managing any claims which arise. The position will also call on you to support other lawyers within the team in regard to contract drafting and negotiation. Legal advice will encompass tenders, supply, R&D, maintenance, procurement, consortium, concessions, IT & IP. The ideal candidate will have substantial dispute resolution/litigation experience and ideally experience of contract drafting. You will currently be working for a highly regarded law firm or in-house and ideally have handled work for engineering clients. Language skills would be a benefit, but are not essential (particularly French, German or Mandarin). You must be a UK qualified Solicitor.
