Founded in 2004, RGE has offices in New York and London, and its clients include leading asset managers, commercial and investment bank, central banks and government, and academic institutions. RGE provides a window into the dynamics and developments of nearly every economy in the world. Each day we gather and distill information from a broad spectrum of sources to help our customers understand global markets and take logical, informed positions. Description of Job Our dynamic editorial staff finds and analyzes a continuous stream of quality journal articles, working papers, op-ed commentary, academic publications, investment research and news for RGE clients. In addition, economic analysts research and write proprietary content on a wide range of topics, both as individual authors and as assistants or co-authors with other analysts as well as RGE’s Chairman, Nouriel Roubini. Responsibilities • Job responsibilities include: • Coordinate with staff in India, NY and London - the sourcing, analyzing, and posting economic-related content that would be most useful to key decision makers around the world – this serves as a critical part of our aggregation product; • Keeping up-to-date on all relevant economic and geostrategic events concerning the assigned regions of coverage; • Participating in weekly meetings and contributing ideas on important economic events and topics for your assigned region; • Researching and writing regular analysis on relevant topics; • Working with senior analysts on research projects, data collection and briefs, as necessary; • Participating in advisory services as needed. Skill Requirements • Masters in Economics or equivalent required, extensive work experience/course work in the economics field including macroeconomics, international economics and international finance. Political Science and International AND minimum two years related work experience; • Global research experience a plus; • Strong knowledge of current economic, financial and geostrategic debates relevant to economists, policy makers, and investment professionals; • Excellent quant skills – a pre-requisite • Knowledge of international economic development, financial markets, energy and geostrategic; • Strong English language writing and speaking skills; • Well-developed sense of teamwork; • Ability to work under deadline; • Flexible work hours in evening. Salary is commensurate with experience. Qualified candidates should send a cover letter, resume, and two (or more) specimens of original writing samples, preferably covering a key economic issue.
