"UK/Ireland HR Manager Background : The role provides Generalist HR support to a section of the UK & Ireland business. We are looking for someone who is hands on, commercial and thrives on an operational agenda, but who has the energy and capability to identify and drive a wide range of people & organisation development initiatives The UK&Ireland team consists of around 50 head office employees, a field management team of around 30 and 650 customer facing consultants located in Department Stores and Boots outlets in the UK and Ireland. This role will provide support to a section of this team. Due to some internal moves / promotions we are still scoping the population that this role will support but it is likely that there will be a large employee relations focus. In the UK there is a generalist HR team of 5 plus a beauty consultant training team of 4. This vacancy has arisen due to an internal promotion of the current HR Manager into a role within the International HR team based in Geneva. Key responsabilities : • Employee relations: Advise and support managers on disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management issues. Coach them to build their own employee relations skills • Resourcing: advise on process & tools and develop new ways to find great people. Keep abreast of what competitors are doing to attract talent. Manage and strongly influence interview or assessment centre processes • Talent: Advise on and embed performance management processes. Manage succession planning and talent spotting processes to ensure that we mitigate talent gaps and build strong talent at all levels. Be a sounding board and provide insight to managers re their teams. Drive plans to continually improve the retention of talent. • Organisation: Challenge and spot opportunities to develop organisation design and efficiency. Manage change programmes as appropriate • Reward: Manage current reward practices (ie salary review, bonus) and develop new ideas and initiatives to recognise, reward and motivate employees • Coaching: Challenge and act as a mirror to managers in order to develop their management style and self awareness. Proactively support and provide insight to managers on their own development plans • Engagement: Support engagement survey action planning and team building opportunities. Get out in the business to scan the environment and input insights and suggestions re how we can drive engagement levels. • L&D: Work with managers to identify needs and build strong development plans for teams. Observe and share insights with the field training team re how we can build the capabilities and performance of the consultants. Facilitate team building sessions and where appropriate build local learning & development programmes. • Projects: Lead key HR projects as appropriate • Misc: Identify HR process improvements, policies and practices as appropriate Knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences : Knowledge and experience : • Sound knowledge of UK employment law • Employee relations and change management experience • Experience across a range of HR activities – resourcing, talent management, organisation development reward, learning & development, • Experience within multi site, operational HR roles • Evidence of leading and motivating others Skills and attributes : • Demonstrates high levels of initiative and drive to see results • Able to build great relationships at all levels • Challenging and insightful • Sound judgement around people and situations • Strong coaching skills • Analytical and logical approach • Good project management skills • Flexible, positive and collaborative team player Please send your cv in word format to : pierre.verchere@approachpeople.com"
