Please review all of our national and international job listings at www.7SolutionsUSA.com Description This position in the Technical Engineering Services organization is responsible for providing instrument and electrical engineering expertise to the Freeport Polycaprolactam & Intermediates Complex (P&IC) operating areas. Main activities include: • Maintains and improves plant reliability through identifying/correcting bad actors, conducting root cause failure analyses, and implementing preventive/predictive maintenance programs. • Acts as a team member with other TES I&E and mechanical engineers, instrument technicians, and the contractor personnel to assure performance of routine, extraordinary, and turnaround maintenance activities. • Collaborates with Operations personnel in troubleshooting I&E problems and implementing technology improvements, provides guidance and training as appropriate to promote proper operation and maintenance of I&E hardware and software. • Requisitions, schedules and usually provides field oversight of outside contractors and suppliers of instrument maintenance services performing work at the site or in off-site shops. • Provides input to preparing the maintenance budget, and controls spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments. • Monitors key performance indicators, and supports and implements continuous improvements to the maintenance work processes in order to enhance plant availability and reduce the plant repair factor. • Administers the various elements of the maintenance program, including DCS and safety systems support, device inspections and calibrations, spare parts availability, and similar activities. • Ensures proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and requirements, and maintains current requirements as to equipment/materials specifications and vendor preferences. • Performs as instrument discipline engineer for projects and manages small projects as assigned, and is responsible for seeking additional expertise as situations may warrant. Required: • B.S. Degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering degrees will be considered based upon applicable experience. • Participation in a high performance team requires entrepreneurial characteristics as well as excellent communication and human relations skills. • A minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience in either a chemical/petrochemical or refinery operation. Desired: • A thorough understanding of maintenance methods and procedures and standards such as understanding details of instrument calibration and sizing. • Electrical systems experience up to 480 volts. Knowledgeable with applicable code requirements, including PSM, and Company’s safety policies. • DCS experience with systems such as Foxboro, and PLC knowledge. SAP/R3 knowledge."
