"Summary: Marketing Advisory Services/Commodity Brokerage firm serving the agriculture space seeks a Grain Broker to aid farmers in marketing their grain, helping them to understand the firm’s strategies and service offerings: Daily Newsletter/Crop Insurance/Consulting Services/Futures and Options. Responsibilities: Become familiar with customer’s farming operation, including storage/production/other critical volumes Understand cash flow targets for the farming operation and create a sales plan incorporating marketed selling strategies and help make the client comfort level in forward contracting/hedging/cash selling Provide market information and recommendations for pricing grain/livestock Develop decision making criteria regarding certain farm break-evens/crop insurance guarantees/market conditions Communicate with client on market changes/sell signals/options as necessary Advise client on hedging strategies (hedge to arrives, cash and basis contracts) as fit for farm operation Be available for customer calls and questions including conference calls as needed Update marketing plan with actual sales/hedging/activity relative to the farming operation including actual sales on a month to month basis Execute futures and options transactions specifically requested by the customer as developed in the annual sales plan Develop new customers to replace attrition in current portfolio and to grow existing customer base Develop/maintain up to date records of customer information in contact management software system Contact customers on timely basis to obtain margin money when needed Complete daily paperwork/procedures to compile with firm/clearing firm/NFA/RMA/Exchange Regulations Submit monthly/annual budgets consistent with expected growth expectations Conduct seminars/marketing to promote individual portfolio growth and promote firm image and growth Conduct radio/print/media/TV appearances as opportunities exist to promote firm Contribute to publications/recorded services/other promotions as needed to promote teamwork Promote services including the daily newsletter/advisory services/crop insurance/futures and options Requirements: Open to various backgrounds: equity trading, agriculture sales and service industry Must have proven ability to develop long term relationships with clients via phone/face to face/written communication.
