"The main function of this role is to assess, design, and implement IT support processes for OntarioMD IT platforms (Portal, Report Manager). This role will be responsible to develop new support products with the Product Management team to educate and inform physician practices as it relates to privacy and security awareness, disaster recovery, network connectivity an business continuity planning. Responsibilities: • Works with OMD Product Management team to determine the appropriate support level and processes for the OMD Products (e.g. OMD Portal and Hospital Report Manager) being implemented in the production environment. o Defines support scope and service level expectations. o Considers short & long term implications when recommending whether the support processes will be delivered by OMD or a 3rd Party. o Develops an OMD staffing requirements plan and job descriptions. o Identifies and acquires any new tools required for the support processes. • Develops support processes and tools for OMD Products o Develops and documents support processes and support use cases. o Develops technology methodologies, standards, checklists and procedures manuals to reinforce processes. o Develops training materials for the support processes. o Defines corresponding internal service measures as required. • Implements new support processes for the OMD Service Desk and OMA Response Centre: o Implements new processes or improves existing support processes to correspond to the OMD Products being implemented into production. o Monitors adoption and use of new processes. o Coordinates process improvements to smooth out “desk to desk” hand offs between OMD and its 3rd Party partners (ex: eHealth Ontario, Cancer Care Ontario, HP). • Monitors support levels against targets. o Reviews all support processes for OMD Products to identify support process improvements. o Creates remedial action plans to close the delivery of operational support to meet previously agreed service level expectations as required. • Develops support products with the Product Management team to educate and inform physician practices as it relates to the EMR in the areas of: o Privacy and security awareness (including the handling of patient personal health information); o Disaster recovery, Network connectivity; and Business continuity planning. Requirements: • University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of IT education and experience. • Minimum of 7 years experience in IT at a management level. o 5 years formal experience managing software development projects or production support services ideally in healthcare sector. o 5 years of formal leadership and people management experience. o Preference will be given to management experience within an IT Application Management Services environment and those with industry related certifications (for ex, ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, or PMP). • Extensive experience developing Operating Level Agreements, Service Level Agreement, and service lifecycles. • Extensive experience in defining services based on business need and assessing service delivery gaps. • Experience in implementing strategic recommendations into operations while taking into consideration the political, business, financial and technical issues, constraints. • Experience in adapting ITSM industry standards and best practices for internal use. • Excellent team, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead others to produce clear and concise documentation. • Strong problem solving capabilities including the ability to defend recommendations and decisions developed through analysis of business needs, risks and technical robustness/purity. • Ability to think conceptually and apply practically.
