Frank Wadsworth has started a discussion: Recruitment Director. Sydney. $170,000 base + equity + other benefits

"This Client is a national executive search, selection and outplacement firm. The business was created just over 4 years ago in late 2007 in Melbourne, and has achieved phenomenal success in that time. Whilst most firms shrank and froze during the Ecomomic Crisis, this business grew by 40%, and even ranked in the top ten on the SmartCompany list of 50 top start-up businesses in 2009 (based on turnover). The business was created by a group of senior Managers and Directors from a global recruitment firm, who had all known each other and worked with each other for well over a decade, including the Managing Director of Australia & New Zealand. Operating in the Executive Search arena, this Client typically works in the $100k-$400k space, with the majority of their work undertaken either retained, or exclusive. With an incredibly strong commitment to delivery, they enjoy a “fill rate” of 70-80%. The Role: This is a board level Director position, joining the existing team of four Directors, and working alongside the existing Sydney Director. The Sydney business is still only less than 2 years old, and therefore, the opportunity to grow the Sydney operation to replicate the size and success of Melbourne is very obvious. In addition to the above, the Director will also benefit from an equity and profit-share scheme, which will be broken down as follows: • The Director will be awarded 5% of equity in the Sydney operation on Day One • For the first two years of tenure, the Director will also receive 5% of any profit that the Sydney operation has achieved • After two full years, the Director will then receive a further 5% equity in the Sydney operation, totalling 10%. (NB: At this point, the profit share scheme will end). The Managerial Structure: This role will work alongside the existing Director for Sydney, and report into the Melbourne based Managing Director. The overall success and responsibility of the Sydney operation will be split equally between the existing Sydney Director and the new Director. Responsibilities of the Role: • Sales: There will be a personal billing requirement attached to this role (all existing Directors of this business generate revenue) • Commitment to Delivery: The Director must uphold this firm’s ability to achieve an 80% “fill rate” • Lead: This role requires strong leadership and “lead by example” characteristics. • Compliance: Director must be comfortable in maintain strong process and procedure. • Recruitment: He/She will have an ability to attract and retain the strongest recruitment talent in the marketplace.
