Rachael Manning posted a job: A Cyber Security Expert Analyst is needed in the UK "A Cyber Security Expert Analyst is needed for one of our clients, a leading International Telecommunications Company, for a Permanent position based in the UK Job Purpose: Our Clients Cyber Security Evaluation Centre (CSEC) exists to continuously improve the security of our Clients products through evaluation, testing and innovative, cutting edge analysis. We work openly with our key customers and government stakeholders to foster a culture of trust throughout UK government and industry. This is a cross cutting role within CSEC with specific responsibility for increasing the technical maturity of the organisation and its staff. The role will involve developing novel analysis techniques for use in CSEC and increasing the knowledge and practical application skills of the existing security analysts. Job Roles and Responsibilities: Responsibilities common to all CSEC employees: •Carry out all work duties with due regard to Health and Safety •Work in accordance with all relevant CSEC policies, processes and procedures •Demonstrate commitment to delivery by working within agreed timescales •Demonstrate continuous improvement by developing security skills and enhancing CSEC capability Responsibilities and Skills Required Analysis and Testing •Undertake analysis of our clients products to identify, categorise and document potential security vulnerabilities or areas for improvement so that remediation and mitigation advice can be given to R&D and UK stakeholders •Utilise a wide variety of tools and techniques to evaluate weaknesses in our client’s products including Static Code Analysis, Source Code Analysis, reverse engineering, exploit development and hacking techniques. Developing Security Analysis Capability •Work to improve evaluation efficiency through continuous improvement, smarter working and automation •Work in accordance with CSEC innovation programme to identify, initiate and carry out security research activities as appropriate •Design and develop new tools and processes that automate the evaluation of our clients products Staff Development •Improve existing staff’s analytical skills through practical demonstration, mentoring and knowledge sharing •Assist in the development of training plans for existing analyst staff •Attend training to further develop own skills Other Responsibilities •Write detailed reports covering issues found within our clients products. •Peer review reports prepared by other security analysts, from any team, in order to improve quality and identify other issues that may require further testing Skills (Essential) •Experience in exploiting vulnerabilities in systems, preferably in a telecoms environment. •Deep understanding of all forms of penetration and ethical hacking tools, Static Code analysis, source code analysis and reverse engineering tools and techniques applied to C and C++ software.
