Software Configuration Management Specialist in Fort Lee, VA Position Summary: Software Configuration Management Specialist, providing Post Deployment Software Support for the US Army's continued maintenance and operations of SARSS CTASC software and related hardware. This position provides full spectrum configuration management support to a team of IT professionals. All work is done within the government office space at Ft. Lee, VA. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: ▪ Programing and performing extensive testing of UNIX shell scripts. ▪ In conjunction with the provision of professional information technology services, duties may include: analysis of problems and definition of requirements, work in support of requirements determination. ▪ May be required to perform concept impact analysis, Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) impacts and implementation, logistic system software design and maintenance. ▪ Developing and updating software code to ensure proper functional relationships are maintained and updated within logistical systems. Maintaining technical documentation, interpreting logic flows, supporting developmental and user testing to include correcting Problem Reports and support for COTS and executive software suites. ▪ Perform technical customer assistance tasks. Develop code and provide the necessary changes to code that may be required upon analysis and identification of systemic problems from Problem Reports. ▪ Provide the necessary updates and interfaces that are required for the system to stay abreast of current technology and providing code to move functionality into state-of-the-art operating systems and hardware (technology refresh). ▪ Develop and provide training materials for system operations. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies: ▪ Knowledge of analytical techniques, problem solving ability, and experience in gathering data to solve complex technical problems (e.g., requirements definition, operations research, and modeling.) ▪ Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment; U.S. Citizenship is required. ▪ Be capable of using Windows operating systems third/fourth generation and state of the art equipment. ▪ Demonstrated ability to work independently or with only general direction. ▪ Demonstrated ability to determine system, data, programming requirements to support an identified system, using accepted analytical and systems design concepts in an independent environment. ▪ Education Requirements: The applicant for this position must have a BA/BS in a job-related discipline, e.g., programming, database administration, software engineering, math, or the IT field.
