Daniel Shaw has started a discussion: KPI Partners looking for Cognos TM1 Administrator - Seattle, WA "KPI Partners looking for Cognos TM1 Administrator - Seattle, WA Job Description: • We have an opportunity for a Cognos/TM1 Administrator for support and system administration of the TM1 planning, forecasting, and reporting software working closely with and coordinating across FP&A and accounting teams. • Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to daily support and maintenance of the TM1 10.1.1 software environments used by Finance department for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis. • The primary responsibility of this role is to provide administration of TM1 with key focus on routine maintenance, data loads and validation of financial data analysis and troubleshooting. • Other duties include development and recommendations of key work products, guidance in evaluating technical proposals and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on development techniques. Job Responsibilities: • Administer Cognos application support which includes data loads, validation, structural updates and troubleshooting. • Work closely with the business leads and IT analysts to understand processes, business problems and reporting/analysis needs. • Work with senior team members and business leads to understand business requirements. • Collects and documents business and user requirements including prototyping. • Collaborates with technical teams to identify/understand underlying source data. Support and enhance process solutions based on knowledge of available systems to satisfy the business requirements. • Translate functional requirements into technical design and specifications. • Source, manipulate and upload data from other Finance and Accounting systems used in the organization. • Oversees the design/development and supports the data models/structures and ETL. • Coordinate with internal/external subject matter experts for dimensional modelling, OLAP cube development and metadata definition. • Build/maintenance of reports using Cognos and Microsoft toolsets. • Develops and maintains Cognos/TM1 models and reports, configuration and schema objects using various tools including Framework Manager, Query and Report Studio. • Works directly with IBM/Cognos on debugging efforts and resolving trouble tickets. • Performs quality testing prior to UAT and reports progress throughout the project and enhancement life cycle. • Administering reporting environment (Cognos TM1), including security, patches, upgrades, etc. • Build and maintain strong business relationships with cross functional teams. • Develops and maintains accurate system documentation including information about attributes and business rules. Assists with the maintenance of data directories. Maintains understanding of BI technology trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units and IT department. • Work with internal teams to establish standard operating and support procedures. • Establish/ensure appropriate SOX-compliant change management controls are followed.
