Responsible for the design and development of the NMS. Ideal candidates will have Java and web services experience along with network protocols. Key focus is finding engineers with strong Tivoli experience The position involves developing, monitoring and/or troubleshooting of large scale satellite networks to help improve network visibility, reliability and performance. * The candidate should be having 4+ years' total development experience with IBM Tivoli Network Management Suite with expertise in two or more of the following functional areas: " Fault Management (OMNIbus, ITNM), " Performance Management (TNPM, TCR), Configuration Management (ITNCM, TIP) * The candidate should have Development experience with several of the following: " client/server Java, XML, Oracle, web services (RESTful/SOAP), JavaScript, " SNMPv3 agents and clients, network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, LDAP) * Expertise in OO based software design, integration and troubleshooting The position involves travel of up to 10% of the time. Preferences " 2+ years' experience in the design and development of Network Management Systems or Element Management Systems (NMS/EMS). " Expertise in developing, monitoring and/or troubleshooting of large scale satellite networks. " Expertise in monitoring and troubleshooting of large scale terrestrial network systems and/or enterprise network products Expertise in the Database design, modeling and Performance Tuning " Familiarity with High availability and Failover of Tivoli Applications " Familiarity with modern software methodologies including agile/scrum processes, test-driven development (TDD), and/or UML modeling. " Advanced Linux sys admin or scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Python, PHP etc.) " Experience working in a geographically distributed project environment. " Communications engineering education and/or work experience, especially satellite related. " Familiarity with build automation and versioning tools such as Ant, Maven, Perforce, Subversion, Hudson, or Clearcase. " Advanced degree in engineering discipline (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.)"
