Jason Wong posted a job: Business Intelligence Analyst - Cognos,Oracle "Business Intelligence Analyst with Oracle and Cognos experience urgently required by leading retailer based in Watford, Hertfordshire. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be working closely with the finance and marketing departments to provide insight into the business performance through mining of low level trading data. You will be required to create user friendly and intuitive reports, cubes and data extracts from an extensive data warehouse using programming languages. You should be a proactive member of the team and ensure that business information and data is easily available to people who need it whilst ensuring that there is no unnecessary duplication in data, reports and ETL. To qualify for this BI Analyst role, candidates should have experience with Oracle and Cognos as well as the following: * Business Knowledge (Retail/Catering) * Business Function Knowledge (Finance / Marketing / Operations) * Ability to demonstrate understanding of user requirements (through documentation and creative solutions) * Infrastructure, although not directly responsible the post holder will have a good appreciation of the platforms employed to deliver BI & Reporting and associated storage (SAN's etc). This will enable capacity planning, roadmaps and problem determination. * Experienced in Microsoft Environments * Competent in SQL Oracle and MySQL * An understanding of XML Structure / Techniques is desirable. This is a great opportunity to join a marketing leading retailer who has experienced stable growth over the past 5 years. This role will initially be based around the Watford area, however may relocate to Woking at the end of 2014.
