"The successful candidate for this position will have responsibility for Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse Management, and Inventory Control. Responsibilities / key metrics will include: • Leading a team of 7 direct reports – Managing daily receipts and customer shipments • Freight claims management • Inventory Cycle Counts / Annual Physical Inventory • Cosigned inventory management • Waste/Recycling management • Transitions warehouse to a visually controlled environment • On time implementation if assigned projects • Organizational EBITA performance to goal • Improve inventory accuracy • 5S – Kanban Implementation/Improvement • Lean Manufacturing Concepts Preferred candidates will have an automotive experience, including Toyota Productions Systems, 5S, and JIT. Additional skills required include: • A self starter with Manufacturing and Inventory Control experience. Ability to work through problems and develop appropriate, successful solutions. • Superior capability to develop and implement procedures • Hands on experience with ERP / EDI processes and Bar Coding systems in an automotive environment. The successful candidate will understand manufacturing business systems, specifically QAD MFG/Pro and have the capability to improve processes with these systems. • Ability to interact effectively with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering as necessary to satisfy department and customer needs. The ideal candidate must be resourceful, have the ability to apply critical thinking skills in problem solving and processes a natural ability to manage multiple tasks. • Strong management, communication and interpersonal skills are essential to the success of this position. Results driven, with the ability to thrive in high performance manufacturing environment. • Ability to bring a structured approach to inventory control, continual improvement, and metrics-based goals. • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with intermediate skills in MS Excel. • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years experience in a Materials Management role.
