"Come join the Rural America Onshore Outsourcing Team as a LAMP Applications Developer! We have an immediate need for talented programmers. We believe in allowing talented teammates the opportunity to excel by becoming involved, being treated as a professional, and learning from a mentor. If you are looking for an opportunity that will allow you to grow, learn new skills, and see your vision take shape, this position is for you! We are a rural based company, whose team works predominantly from home. Though headquartered in Wisconsin, we are hiring nationwide. Skills: • Seeking well-rounded LAMP Stack + JavaScript (PHP but Python would be a plus) applications developers. • Strong JavaScript skills--should be able to discuss its strength and weaknesses and how it relates to "classical", prototypal, and functional language ideas--are a must and could even make-up for weaknesses on the server-side for the right candidate. If you think JavaScript is an under-appreciated but serious language, we want you on our team. Static website experience and using JavaScript to merely create limited interfaces or special effects will not cut it. • Years of experience doesn’t matter as much as having experience in real applications development (even outside of web development) and strong interest especially in effective UI implementation a must. • In particular, embraces MVC style, and understands basic multi-tier application development concepts like DRY/DIE*, and web app persistence and communications ideas such as REST, JSON, and XML (and see how the pieces can fit together). • Of course, typical (non app-specific) web development concepts such as HTML and CSS are a given. Requirements: • A perfect fit would be experience with CakePHP (and various PHP applications like WordPress) and jQuery, but particular frameworks do not matter as much as aptitude and flexibility. • Strong skills needed in: PHP with Python a plus, cakePHP, JavaScript, Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl, HTML, CSS, jQuery. • The interview will be tough, you will be asked to demonstrate problem solving abilities in real world situations. Personality Requirements: • Strong analytical skills – ability to translate data to strategy • Ability to think creatively and strategically • Excellent organization and time management skills • Visual design skills are a strong plus • Conceptual thinking, presentation skills at a high level. • A drive for wanting to build products from the user's point of view • Ability to work on multiple projects with minimal assistance from fellow team members • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work and communicate pro-actively with business owners, and clients. Cultural Requirements: • Passionate. Must have hunger and ambition – the desire to perform every day without needing external motivation. • Humble. Wants the organization to succeed, not just himself/herself. • Creative. Must be able to see new opportunities that are not apparent to others. • Principled. Must have integrity and project the proper image of Rural America Onshore Sourcing, Inc. • Team-Oriented. Must be able to communicate well and, more importantly, to listen well. Education: College degree is helpful; but not required. Real world experience is more important. Salary and Benefits: • Competitive Rural Market Rates Paid • Stock option equity bonuses – Shareholder and Annual Bonuses. In 2010, bonuses were 10% of salary. • Health Insurance Allowance. • Work up to 95% of time at home. • 12% Paid Time for Personal Development and Administration. • Flex-time: Set your own hours • Part-time: Ideal for “Moms at home”. In order for us to give you the best opportunity of employment, we ask that you apply with us through our online website which is located at http://www.ruralamericaonshore.com/careers/"
