We are a rural based company, whose team works predominantly from home. Though headquartered in Wisconsin, we are hiring nationwide. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years in Network Engineering. Skills: • Engineers, sets up, configures, deploys, maintains, monitors, and supports internal and external networks, including the company’s network design and day-to-day administration to ensure consistent network availability, integrity, and security. • Engineers and maintains network systems, applications, security and configurations. • Monitors network performance. • Troubleshoots and resolves network performance issues. • Recommends and implements upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment. • Develops and maintains network documentation. • Works with clients to ensure clients needs are met. • Researches, recommends, and implements ways to improve technology service delivery. • Acts as subject matter expert or project team member for projects that include network communication. • Ensures that corporate policies and procedures are implemented. • Has cross-functional responsibilities with Systems Engineers, Systems Administrators, and Network Administrators, and performs system administration duties as necessary. • Supervises network and system administrators and network vendors. • Performs other duties as assigned by manager. Requirements: • Expert knowledge of network design and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, VLAN, Routing, OSI Model, Data Circuits such as T1/E1/DS1, T3/E3/DS3, ISDN, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SNMP, Frame Relay, MPLS, VPN, Ethernet, encryption, SSL, Fiber channel, UTP cabling, fiber optic cabling, VoIP, and emerging network technologies. • Expert knowledge of network equipment and software including Cisco IOS, and ASA Firewalls. • Expert network troubleshooting skills and experience with common software tools for troubleshooting such as ping, trace route, arp, nslookup etc. • Expert knowledge of VOIP, SIP, QoS, SBC, Voice Gateway. • Expert knowledge of network security practices and technologies. • Familiarity with EIA/TIA/IEEE standards including 802 and 568 standards. • Expert knowledge of data communications cabling. • Expert knowledge of Microsoft networking and Microsoft server operating systems. • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, IIS server, Exchange server, and other enterprise systems. • Expert knowledge of Internet standards and technologies. • Must have experience administering networks in a corporate environment. • Must be familiar with industry best practices and resources for network administration and be very familiar with software used to monitor and manage networks. Preferences: • The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, while managing your time and responsibilities with minimal supervision. • Prior experience managing projects; directly or indirectly supervising other teammates or contractors. • Cisco Certification is preferred.
