"Principal Accountabilities: The Solution Architect is accountable to the Solution Architect Lead/Chief Architect and Project Director / Programme Manager / Project Manager to : Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Senior Portfolio Analysts or Portfolio Analyst to explore business demand at pre-prioritisation stage. The work may include initial requirement assessment, high-level solution planning, prototyping and feasibility tests. View package-based business solutions holistically to ensure seamless integration with other application / infrastructure components Job description: Work closely with application or infrastructure project teams to focus on high level designs and conceptual designs for project delivery. Analyse enterprise business context (trends and business strategy), as well as project-specific requirements to guide solution architecture by leveraging all aspects (eg. business, information and technology) of enterprise architecture. Consult with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architect Lead and project teams to harmonise systems or infrastructure with the enterprise architecture. Identify when the enterprise architecture cannot accommodate project needs. Drive discussions among Chief Architect, Solution Architect Lead, Enterprise Architects and projects teams to agree on the solution architecture. Ensure solution architecture design and analysis work is documented in a structured fashion matching the EA framework. Facilitate sharing of the artifacts to drive reuse. Construct and promote application / infrastructure development and deployment standards and guidelines. Provide consultancy on performance optimisation for new and existing solutions, in particular during production fire-fighting situations. Understand, advocate and augment the business and IT strategies specifically on EA development and service delivery. Be prepared to educate project team members (including business users) on the value of EA and principles that guide technology decisions for the enterprise. Keep abreast of the latest trends in technology, ensure timely exploration and proactively communicate IM’s position towards the introduction of relevant / key emerging technologies. Modify the EA to accommodate near-term and long-term needs. Collaborate with the Chief Architect and IM Leadership Team to drive business and technology innovation to achieve corporate strategic plans and objectives. Lead contractor Solution Architects by providing guidance on architecture directions, ensure a full compliance to architecture principles Experience required: Minimum 7 years of IT experience with at least 4 years hands-on project solution architecture experience in 1 or more of the following technical disciplines: o Usability o Application development o Network design o Middleware o Server and storage o Database management o Operations Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environment Strong leadership skills Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements Ability to define multiple solution options to business problems Knowledge of all aspects of enterprise architecture Basic knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting Understanding of application development methodologies, SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, or client/server systems Passion and ability to learn new technologies and their application Airline experience is desired but not essential.
