Job Description: •Candidate must have experience and demonstrated ability in study protocol development, study design and layout, small animal surgery, physiological and pharmacological functional evaluations, and data management and study reporting. •A thorough understanding in one or more of the following therapeutic areas: cardiovascular, renal, hepatic and pulmonary is desired. Desired Skills & Experience •Requires a Ph.D. in an appropriate Physiological or Pharmacological discipline, •2-8 years of relevant experience demonstrating expertise in the requested areas with sustained performance and accomplishments. •Biotech and/or Pharmaceutical industry experience are highly desirable. •Experience leading and motivating research associate staff is also a plus. •Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required; as such, the successful candidate must be able to participate in highly effective teams. •The successful candidate will exercise independent judgment in developing and standardizing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining highly tractable, valid, and reproducible results. •Demonstrates ability to recognize anomalous and inconsistent results and interpret experimental outcomes. •Maintains in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and applies such knowledge to the business and research directions that support Company interests. • Demonstrates technical proficiency, scientific creativity, strength in data reduction/management and presentation, as well as independent thought in participating in experimental design. •Must think critically and creatively to determine appropriate resources for client demand as well as resolution of problems. •Must have strong organizational, planning and time-management skills. •The candidate should enjoy working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
