"Our innovative medical device client in beautiful Irvine, California is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their growing team immediately. Responsibilities: The Electrical Engineer will be reporting to the Director of R&D and will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing success of the electrical design of the company’s medical products and develop new products as well. This individual is also responsible for the adherence to domestic and international regulations for medical device development. Perform the electronic product development process through all phases of product development. Manage multiple projects from concept to completion. Electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations. Adherence to high reliability design practices, such as component derating, creation of FMEA’s, following structured development process. Use of CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layouts. Hands-on troubleshooting, soldering capability for SMT technologies. Project controls, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders. Work closely with Q&A, Manufacturing & Regulatory, and System Engineering to support company goals. Work closely with vendors for components selection, purchasing, PCB layout, fabrication, assembly and testing. Working with technical staff, contribute ideas and substance to the product design and process development. Contribute to invention disclosures and patent fillings. Lead, mentor and guide an electronics technician. Required Qualifications: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering Minimum 10 years of experience in electromechanical circuit development 5 years+ medical device experience, including the successful development and launch of at least one medical device, from concept to completion Experience in product development, staffing plans and technology development activities Experience in developing electromechanical software controlled devices required Must have advanced knowledge of electrical engineering and design, and be familiar with applicable codes, standards and acceptable industry practices Strong knowledge of QSR and Design control Schematic and PCB layout tools familiarity Electrical analysis software familiarity Must possess superior engineering skills Excellent problem solving skills, leadership skills, prioritization skills and verbal and written communication skills Supervisory experience a plus"
