"Controller in Pasadena, CA We are a premier provider dedicated to improving the overall well-being and functioning of vulnerable children, youth, and their families.  We provide high quality care, advocacy, and innovative services that promote safe, permanent environments where young people can thrive. We are currently seeking a Controller for our Finance department. The ideal candidate will have LA County Behavioral and Mental Health funding experience as well as be able to demonstrate key responsibilities outlined below. Core responsibilities for the Controller/Director of Financial Services include: 1.       Oversee Financial Services Department 2.       Implement and monitor compliance with current accounting policies and procedures 3.       Direct and/or participate in the preparation of periodic and special budgetary, financial and related statistical reports 4.       Monitor expenditures according to budget allocation/appropriations 5.       Recommend and/or initiate cost saving measures 6.       Provide regular and special reports for evaluation of continued viability of programs/departments 7.       Develop recommendations for continuous improvement of the financial operation 8.       Analyze and develop alternatives for changing policies and procedures that promote efficiency, control, and quality in the accounting process 9.       Perform annual internal audit and reconciliation of government contract schedules 10.   Prepare reporting to governmental agencies, foundations, and all funders as required 11.   Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports of organization?s financial activities and status 12.   Attend and participate in meetings, committees, and training sessions as directed by Chief Financial Officer 13.   Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting 14.   Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules 15.   Assist all departments in the budgeting process Requirements for the position include: 1.       Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting 2.       CPA license 3.       10 years experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas, with at least two years supervisory role 4.       Experience in non-profit preferred 5.       Must be PC proficient, with strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word 6.       Experience with automated fund accounting system (Blackbaud preferred) 7.       Strong verbal and written communication skills 8.       Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required 9.       Valid California drivers license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to our insurance carrier In exchange for your skill and experience, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including: ·         Medical insurance ·         Dental insurance ·         401k ·         Paid time off (PTO) ·         Long term di... http://bull.hn/l/139WC/1"
