Group: IT Recruiters Subject: Looking for Systems Administration Expert (TX) Bhumika Ghimire posted a job: Looking for Systems Administration Expert (TX) "*Job Summary Senior System Administration position is required to support Unix production and development environments consisting of IBM, Hewlett-Packard, VMware, and Linux servers spanning many diverse business areas across the Citigroup enterprise. *Job Description This position plays a key role in the systems support, integration, and delivery of database servers, middleware servers and web tier application servers across the organization. You will be responsible for day-to-day support issues, projects, and scheduled server maintenance. The successful candidate will need to frequently interface with other support and engineering groups to deploy solutions and to help troubleshoot any problems in the environment. Good analytic troubleshooting skills are essential. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision but also function as a team player is essential. Position is required to provide on-call support on a rotating basis with the other members of the team. Job Description • Server builds – OS installations including SAN allocation and file systems • Administration – Hardware, OS, network, and scripting • Software Installations – Package/patch installations, client software installation • Monitoring – Tivoli alerts, system and network-level performance monitoring/tuning, performance, backups, capacity planning • Project representation – Represent the team on assigned projects, planning and implementation • Processes – Global standards, compliance, security, change management, asset management • Server Migrations - Database, Application, Web server migrations between Datacenters Job Skills/Qualifications Qualifications – Technical Skills • AIX 6x,7x (5-7 years) o Builds, package installs, performance tuning, root cause analysis, ldap/kdc config • IBM HMC management (5-7 years) • Redhat – 5.x, 6.x (5-7 years) o Builds, package installs, performance tuning, root cause analysis, ldap/kdc config • Native LVM for RHEL and AIX (5-7 years) • Veritas NetBackup (5-7 years) o Client backup and restore • Clustering solutions – Veritas Cluster VXFS (1-5 years) • Unix Security Framework knowledge (PAM, KDC/LDAP, SSH key management, etc) • Networking protocols (NFS, SSH, SFTP, HTTP) • Performance tuning (kernel parameters, network parameters) • IBM Pseries frame experience (2-5 years) • HP Blade Chassis, ILO (2-5 years) • VMware containers (2-5 years) • SAN and NAS client (5-7 years) • Shell programming(ksh,perl) (2-5 years)\Job Skills/Qualifications Qualifications – Non-Technical Skills • Self-starter required. • Strong customer and quality-focus is a must. • Sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills required. • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills • Excellent communication skills both written and oral. • Ability to focus on multiple simultaneous problems under tight deadlines.
