Job Description: SGS is actively seeking highly qualified, hard working and career-minded Tower Professionals. We have Nationwide opportunities throughout 2013. Current locations are: MD, VA, West. VA, DC and CA. We have the following openings: Tower Foreman- supervises a Tower Team of 3 or 4 people, including the Foreman, Tower Top Hand, and Tower Hand (or Green Hand). Foreman is responsible for team safety, accomplishment of all required work, quality of work, completion schedule, and coordination between crew, service provider and SGS. The Foreman will develop and manage his/her crew to work well together, resolve any discipline or personnel issues within the team, assign work rotations between tower and ground roles, delegate work and responsibilities, provide onsite direction and training to all team members and will assure that any required training and/or indoctrination is provided to his/her team to be able to complete all assigned work. Skills: Candidates must be hands-on, working Foremen, who will be expected to act as a crew member participating in daily onsite activities. The Tower Foreman must have all the requirements listed for the Top Hand, plus the following: Capable of identifying essential materials and tools to carry out scope of work Read and implement project drawings and specifications Must be able to perform Anritsu sweep testing, PIM testing, fiber optic testing, and laptop down tilt procedures Must be able to read a compass and figure azimuths Effective planning and scheduling Prepare and submit daily reports Prepare closeout documents Maintain and organize crew trucks Oversee onsite crew Requirements: Must have prior experience as a foreman Valid drivers license and be able to pass a driving record check Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Min 5 yrs exp with 3 yrs climbing experience. Tower Top Hand (Lead Man)-typically second in seniority and experience to the L&A Foreman on most project sites. Responsible for tower-top rigging and installation of bracing, mounts, antennas, lines. etc., as required for each project, including the safety and adequacy of the rigging, and effectiveness to complete the required work without damaging the tower or systems. Has overall responsibility for the quality of all work performed on the tower(s). The Lead Man oversees and instructs Tower Hands and Green Hands working alongside the Lead Man how to correctly and safely rig for lifting, assembly, installation, disassembly, and alignment of the tower, antenna and line components that must be installed or removed. Skills: Candidates must be experienced in all aspects of line and antenna system installation, replacement and maintenance.
