Rachael Manning posted a job: Photonics Design Team leader/Manager - Belgium "Photonics Design Team leader/Manager - Belgium A Team Leader/manager of the Photonics Design with a strong expertise in Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) design using silicon, silica or InP is needed to work for Manning global’s client in Ghent, Belgium. The candidate will have responsibility of bringing products to market amid tight deadlines and exact specifications. S/he will be reporting to the CTO s/he will lead the photonics design team, organize and contribute to the innovation of products and designs. Within the scope of your areas of expertise, your responsibilities include the following: Design Methodology ● Continually improve design tools and methodology used to establish PDK and libraries for the client’s silicon photonics technology. ● Oversee dissemination of these systems and tools within relevant groups Design ● Ensure design projects are executed on time, within budget and meet specification ● Regularly review, offer guidance and technical insight to members of your team ● Contribute personally to develop innovative structures and solutions using silicon photonics Platform technical planning ● Translate product requirements into specifications for chip design, evaluating available trade-offs ● Interface with the process development group to decide optimal process modifications to realize required photonic structures Key technology and Team management ● Lead technical projects, make decisions for project architecture and key technical solutions ● Perform business analysis and technical risk evaluation of proposed designs/solutions ● Active involvement in internal and external R&D activities in industry and academia ● Train, coach and appraise team members, team building ● Cooperate with other related R&D groups in Europe Requirements & Qualifications: ● Ability to lead a project team and to cooperate with a team of international experts in different areas including marketing, R&D and standardization ● Strong project management experience with the ability to provide others with clear direction and leadership ● Excellent communication and presentation skills ● Minimum 10 years experience in photonics design of which five years in the design and development of PICs. Proven track record of delivering designs which end up in production ● Hands on experience with common design/simulation tools (e.g. Lumerical, Firmware).
