"We are seeking an experienced Web Development Manager. Key areas of focus include research, planning, management, and delivery of digital media projects along with leadership of technical team members. The function directs and executes the technical delivery of client and company digital projects to ensure budgets, timelines, quality control and best-practice standards are met. Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing, your specific responsibilities will be to: - Effectively plan and direct the technical implementation of varied digital media projects, primarily websites and e-marketing initiatives - Work closely with project managers to determine and clarify client requirements and expectations - Lead digital team members in the effective implementation of projects to ensure timelines, budgets, appropriate technologies, security, documentary, and other user-requirements are met - Perform hands-on programming/technical execution of projects in conjunction with technical team to support project delivery - Ensure testing and secure deployment of all applications, and support client user-training where applicable - Support the Communications and Client Services teams in the effective development and deployment of client and company SMM and SEO initiatives - Develop and operate best-practice development and business procedures to ensure IP protection, effective work flow, and efficient project management - Research, plan, develop and utilize technical/digital assets and competencies that provide competitive advantage - Administer and document relevant technical matters for client and company use Our Ideal Candidate - A university degree with a focus on technology and/or IT management preferred - Seven to 10 years development experience, ideally leading web implementation teams for at least two years - Exposure to marketing and communications is an asset - Extensive experience in managing the full software development life cycle - Familiar with current web standards and best practices in security, CMS, etc. - Ability to effectively develop software applications, including appropriate requirements gathering, and development documentation - Hands-on experience with a variety of web development and CMS tools including: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Visual Studio, Joomla and WordPress - Hands-on experience with a variety of programming techniques that include: AJAX, HTML, PHP and XML.
