"IT Support Engineer - Zurich (CH) A IT Support Engineer is needed by on behalf of our client, a prestigious and fast growing international Telecoms company in Zurich Switzerland. Start time is ASAP. Fluent English and work eligibility in Switzerland is required. Main tasks and responsibilities: IT technical support members monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks within the Mobile Network infrastructure. They may install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person. The work is as much about understanding how information systems are used as applying technical knowledge related to computer hardware or software. For the developer aspect - designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well engineered result. Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work. installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications; monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks; talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues; troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults; replacing parts as required; providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports; following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system; supporting the roll-out of new applications; setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues; responding within agreed time limits to call-outs; working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate); prioritising and managing many open cases at one time; rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers; testing and evaluating new technology; Due to the nature of the work, you may be expected to work shifts or be on call. It may also be necessary to work extra hours to finish a job. Travel within a working day is sometimes needed and may be required at short notice. Requirements: minimum of 10 years commercial IT experience a Computer Science related degree Network certifications Microsoft certifications Linux certifications JAVA/C++/PHP development experience MySQL / Oracle developer experience Oracle BI experience .NET programming and Microsoft SQL Server NOT required.
