Adam Standley posted a job: Amoria Bond are currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer for a 9 month contract based in Scotland "Amoria Bond are currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer for a 9 month contract based in Scotland. The role is to start in November or December depending on the availability of the right person. The Successful Mechanical Engineer will have the following background: -A degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar. -A thorough understanding in the design & analysis of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, engines, gear boxes or similar. -The ability to undertake calculations analysing the performance of the equipment, using company bespoke software. -A general understanding of rotating equipment and pressure vessels. -A proven track record in preparing technical documentation such as business basis, project plans and / or technical reports with commercial content. -Experience of working with multi-disciplined teams such as Manufacturing Engineers, Production Engineers, Procurement, Quality, Sales & Marketing and Design. -Preferably you will have acted as the technical lead on projects previously. -Knowledge of stress analysis packages such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, PATRAN etc -Preferably knowledge of CFD analysis using packages such as Fluent or ANSYS CFX -Mechanical design knowledge using 3D CAD software such as Pro/Engineer Wildfire, CATIA V5, Inventor, SolidEdge, Solidworks or similar. Whilst this is an extensive list of skills, our client is flexible on the skillset as long as you fit the main requirement of being a Development Engineer of some kind with Design or Analysis skills working on rotating equipment. It is fair to say your current job title could be any of the following: Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, R&D Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Leader, Mechanical Design Engineer, Analysis Engineer or similar. Day to day will be split between working on the design and feasibility of future products (in a research & development capacity), performance analysis of current products, working on the test procedures of current programmes and operating as the technical lead on a design project.
