"Looking for a Senior Technical Analyst in New Haven, CT   Apply here:  http://bit.ly/19239BR   Departmental Focus:                Reporting to the Manager of Technical Analysis, the Senior Technical Analyst is responsible for: Recommending Technology solutions that align with Central Services client business processes and ITS strategic goals. Support of solutions related to the Vice President’s Office, Secretary’s Office, Administration, General Counsel and Athletics. Providing direct support for enterprise applications managed by the team. Oversees evaluation of new features and manage the functional testing of application upgrades. Works with Business Analysts, functional staff and vendors to analyze and recommend technology solutions for clients as well as provide ongoing support. Works with stakeholders and other Central Services client team representatives to complete all associated application life-cycle deliverables for new and existing solutions. Manages a production calendar for supported applications working in collaboration with release management as well as functional and technical stakeholders. Principal Responsibilities: Works effectively with the process owners to document the scope, requirements, objectives and performance targets. Elicits and writes requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely. Decomposes business and user requirements into functional requirements. Defines quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements. Represents requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios. Compares functional specifications to functionality in commercial off-the-shelf software to identify appropriate matches Actively contributes in the testing and quality assurance process. Collaborates with developers and end-users to insure that application functionality meets client needs. Contributes in requirements prioritization and solution risk analysis Contributes to the communication planning/delivery and departmental readiness plan. Supports metrics integration and execution for optimal results. Contributes to the development and delivery of training to end users. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, technology or related field. Two to five years of experience in analysis of business needs and development of related business systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated experience writing requirement and technical specifications. Demonstrated experience with business technical analysis / configuration of vendor solutions. Demonstrated experience to work in a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated experience working with client stakeholders, internal business partners and external vendors.
