This is for our direct customer. 4-6 Months Location: Pittsburgh, PA Job details We have an immediate need for a skilled Sr. SAS programmer to work within our consulting practice for a major credit card company client. DESIRED COMPETENCIES Conceptual understanding of the banking industry. Ability to perform data quality checks methodically to ensure client data is pre-analyzed before further use. Strongly preferred are demonstrated competencies in code documentation, .log and .lst diagnosis, and internal/external validity checks. Programming skills using SAS to meet the challenges of advanced data manipulation, complex programming logic, and extremely large datasets is required. The environment is exciting and fast-paced so the chosen candidate will have to be able to work within tight deadlines and shift gears quickly.  Candidates with experience/expertise in SQL Server (Stored Procedures), DB2 and Oracle. Visual Basic experience would be nice to have. Ability to communicate results and methodology with the project team and clients.   Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related fields. Special consideration for applicants with graduate degrees. SAS SKILLS •             Minimum five years programming experience in SAS using most of the following: o  BASE SAS o   SAS MACRO o   SAS SQL - Financial services experience is a plus - Demonstrated experience managing mid-size projects --> requirements through delivery.
