Description:   Job Description: IT Specialist Guident is seeking an energetic, motivated, independent self-starter for an internal position supporting a mixed OS environment running in a VMware based data center infrastructure and network components. The candidate will be a part of an operations team supporting installations in multiple data centers. Work will include the development of new systems and the maintenance of existing systems. Position responsibilities include: -Address operational systems issues including file and share permissions, user accounts, application installations and perform system backups -Troubleshoot hardware and software related issues and replace failed components -Monitor server performance and availability -Provide tier 1 and 2 support to network switches and routers -Support and maintain Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating environment -Support and maintain Microsoft SharePoint system -Provide Active directory administration, user account management, domain management -Upgrade and replace laptop and server hardware where appropriate -Support and maintain Linux (Red Hat / Cent OS) systems -Generate drawings and documentation -Must be able to lift 30 lbs.   Qualifications:   Required Skills: -Bachelor’s degree in related field and 4+ years of progressively responsible experience -IT customer support-facing experience -Demonstrated ability to function in a multi-platform environment -3-5 years of Windows experience in desktop and Server operating systems including XP / 7 /2003, 2008 -3-5 years of Linux Administration including basic Apache, LAMP stack and remote access protocols, PHP and MySQL -1 year experience with VMware technology including VMware 4, 5, vSphere -Strong knowledge of networking principles; must be able to explain TCP and UDP. Must be familiar with the CLI and able to perform base configurations of VLANs, port groups, and routing   -Demonstrated analytical skills, sound judgment and effective problem solving skills -Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work independently -Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing -A strong work ethic is a must   Desired Skills: -Experience with systems integration including specification, evaluation and integration of COTS hardware into systems -Some programming experience in Python, C and/or C++ under a Linux environment is desired -Certifications including Network+, CCNA, MCP, ... http://bull.hn/l/XJJF/2"
