Job Description: Hi, Please review the below job details and let me know if you are interested, ================================================= Position : Application Support Analyst /IT Technologist Location : Glastonbury CT Duration : Full time Job Description: This position is responsible for monitoring, supporting and creating solution design for LINUX OS, database, network, web and in-house software solutions. The position will report to the area IT Manager and work side by side with multi-disciplined IT professionals and area business stake-holders. A successful candidate will have experiences working in a University Computer Lab or equivalent setting with exposure to installing, configuring and administering some of the following types of software; monitoring, notification, scheduling, operating systems, routers, switches, databases, etc. The candidate should have experience in Linux operating systems with some scripting experience as well as basic exposure to databases and SQL. The candidate should at a minimum possess academic knowledge regarding LAN/WAN infrastructure, Java coding development lifecycles, and Scripting/Automation. Responsibilities: Provide support in implementing work deliverables Assist on product upgrades and fixes Build server environments and deploy new hardware Provide database monitoring and support to all environments Write scripts/queries/jobs with help of senior staff Assist development team members with database related issues/questions Create ad-hoc reports as required Partake in Disaster Recovery exercises Maintain access permissions and privileges Maintain production change control Issue tracking from identification through resolution Provide on-call support after hours as needed Coordinate maintenance with business stake holders and clients Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to think analytically One or two years of experience with computer systems/networking in a work environment Experience working with computer hardware for installation and upgrades Experience working with software installation/upgrade procedures Experience working with file and system maintenance procedures Exposure to database operation and basic querying ability Proficiency with MS Office tools Eagerness to support systems after hours Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar discipline Oracle Certified Professional in lieu of 4 year degree 2+ years o"
