Group: IT Recruiters Subject: Solution Designer – UK Rachael Manning posted a job: Solution Designer – UK "BMC ADDM, BMC BPPM, BMC Atrium A experienced Solution Designer is needed for one of our clients, a leading International Telecommunications Company, for a permanent position based in the UK. Description: As part of the 3UK project the client has to deliver a transformation program that will ultimately provide capabilities that will help Operations deliver business benefits and move from Reactive to Predictive Service Management. The ultimate solution will be based upon the BMC application suite, for the Monitoring and Discovery & CMDB stages, in particular BMC ADDM, BMC Atrium and BMC BPPM. The first phase of the transformation program has to provide functional and technical capabilities to: • Strengthen the Foundation for Service Operations, • Deploy capabilities to improve how the client manages their service • Improve Insight into how the Network is performing • Help understand how the client’s Customers Experience the service journeys • Enhance the Security around the Network The solution designer will produce a ‘to-be’ solution design centered around BCMs ADDM, Atrium and BPPM to move from reactive to predictive service management helping Operations to become best in class whilst at the same time lean and mean. Responsibilities: • Review existing 3UK applications, IT infrastructure and network designs • Co-ordinate inputs from technical specialists and users to understand solution options to meet business requirements • Gain agreement for designs/models from stakeholders • Provide support to designers and developers during implementation of projects, manage design change requests. • Stakeholder management • Operations representation • Facilitation of teams to produce innovative, cost effective and deliverable managed service solutions Requirements: • Good understanding of the ‘As-is’ situation of the involved technical domains (core network, IT infrastructure and IT applications) related to monitoring/discovery and configuration management and the overall service design of the client’s 3UK project • Experience in and be able to demonstrate the successful design of E2E monitoring solutions as well as E2E discovery & configuration solutions covering Core network, IT infrastructure and applications • Due to the fact the solution spans multiple technical domains the ability to be innovative and creative and to communicate ideas to the team and customer with a commercial understanding is essential • Knowledge of the different technical domains and ITIL is essential • Customer facing at appropriate levels with good presentation and consultative skills • Assimilate and document information pertaining to customer opportunities • Work closely with the transformation team, Three Design teams and Operation teams • Ability to relate complex business need to technology based solution • Manage risk • Drive practices and methods for quality work • Knowledge sharing and support to others with Training design and delivery • Qualified assessor and interviewer • BMC ADDM, BMC BPPM, BMC Atrium • Netact, EMC, Ionix, Cacti, HP Openview • Extensive operational experience • Good customer presentation experience. • Well developed communication skills.
