Job Description: We are looking for Desktop Services Deployment Infrastructure Engineer based in London for one of our esteemed IT services client: Role Desktop Services Deployment Infrastructure Engineer Location: London Duration: 3 Months Rolling Job Description: Specific / Measurable Minimum Requirements Graduate in science, engineering or technology. Windows Server OS knowledge (Windows 2003/2008 R2). Windows Client OS knowledge (XP/Win7) Good understanding of software deployment methodology and experience of using enterprise tools (e.g. SCCM, Tivoli, and LANDesk). Understanding of MSI Experience/knowledge of Server/Client patching and maintenance Experience of following technical documentation to deliver tasks Good level of communication skills face to face, by email and telephone with the ability to select the most appropriate communication method to suit the situation Good to have Skills Scripting capability (Batch/CMD, VBscripting, Powershell) Knowledge and experience of key ITIL processes Change, Incident and Problem Tasks to be delivered Deployment: Manage software deployments across the breadth of the LBG Distributed Estate (Client, Branch, ATM and Server Farms) in line with defined standards. This includes: o Management of new software releases through test, pre-production and production environments. o Investigate and resolve software deployment failures. o Produce detailed release documentation o Update and maintain reference software build stacks Provide guidance on software deployment delivery to L2 engineers Resolution and ownership of incidents with various severities (Sev2/Sev3) Security patching of servers and clients across the estate Provide input in to KPI reports for team management Participate in SOX Compliance control checks/requirements Identify any risks and report to FTE Risk Champion SMTD development and maintenance Process/Softer Skills: Act as a role model to junior staff Stakeholder management, both for BAU support and project activities, in particular managing customer expectations and accountability for responsibilities (including accountability of other teams). Undertake the planning, implementation and documentation of technical projects with minimum supervision, controlling work allocation, advice and guidance to junior staff where appropriate. Experience in delivering complex projects and / or incident recoveries Provide technical support and advice to both technical and business users, applying specific technical expertise particularly in more complex or less common situations. "
