Role : Java Architect Location : Philadelphia, PA Duration : 6- 12 Months contract. Job Description: Candidate should have 10 years’ experience in software development, including at least 8 years’ experience in Object-Oriented technologies - implementing Web- based applications. Previous experience with Financial Services wealth management industry in required/must. The position will be a hands-on position. 50% architectural / design work and 50% actual development work. • Ability to design technical solutions to solve complex business problems. Ability to drill deep into subject matter with the expectation to evolve as subject matter expert on current systems. Performs research and analysis - recommending solutions and driving decisions. Serves as a "point person" for specific technical expertise. • Solid understanding of Enterprise Architecture and how business architecture and technical architecture work in tandem for successful EA. • Technical skills – • Demonstrated expertise in Architecting and Designing highly complex solutions using Java and Oracle technologies including but not limited to: i. Strong java / J2EE skills including core Java, (JSP/Servlet coding), EJB 3.0, ii. Messaging - JMS (strong knowledge of topics and queues), MDB’s , Experience with MQ (6.x,7.x) is a plus, iii. Experience with development of WebServices iv. Weblogic ( 10.3 / 11g) v. Integration with 3rd party components, external service providers vi. Experience in using development tools such as Eclipse, Ant, SQL Developer, source code control systems, continuous build systems, ex., Hudson. • Other - SDLC, leadership, functional background • Must be able to represent the team(s) in cross functional settings and interface with Business Leads, Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, External Vendors and other development tracks.
