Roles and Responsibilities Builds Portals, Content Management systems and dashboards for use by big enterprises. General understanding of process improvement models like CMMi, Six Sigma, TQM, ISO. Interacts with Lead / Senior Engineers & Support teams to improve the quality of Portal & related Products Possesses good knowledge in building portals and versatile in using tools like LifeRay, Knowledge/Content Management, Wiki and Web2.0. Defines the functional specification of program modules ensuring functionality, quality and ease of maintainability. Estimates the size and scope of the development effort of assigned module/task Develops applications, user interfaces & business logic/tier Involve in developing and testing software programs & applications according to pre-defined standards/workflows across one or more areas including User Interface design & development, Portal Development, Content creation/management, Development of tools, Refining SDLC process, Creation of workflow/scripts. Takes ownership of assigned modules and work towards Quality & Timely Delivery Builds the environment/images needed for operations in a production environment. Maintains knowledgebase and knowledge of deployed environments; Completes assigned activities within schedule. Excellent communication skills Skills Required for Lead Engineering role Minimum of 3 years experience in software development mainly in Portal development/Content management. Any experience using Liferay is a big plus Good understanding of SDLC and Object oriented methodologies and UML Certification in one of the following areas: Java, J2EE Strength in server side Java development especially on 2 of the components like Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, JMS. Knowledge on XML, Scripting languages (Shell or Python or Perl) Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of Oracle or SQLServer and SQL.
