Catherine (Katya) Kotova posted a job: Long term Java Developer position in Washington DC "Our partner, Astor & Sanders Corporation, an IT solutions provider, is currently seeking a driven and talented Java Developer to support web development initiatives on a Government IT Project. This is a full-time long-term position located in Washington, D.C. H1B TRANSFER AVAILABLE. Additional roles and responsibilities include: • Web applications development using JAVA and J2EE • Assisting in all phases of software development, including designing new and/or modifying programs; modifying scripts as required, debugging, and preparing documentation based upon established policies Experience: • 5 years of experience developing software in Java and J2EE • Experience in programming multi-tier applications using the following technologies: Struts, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Ajax is required • Experience with Crystal Reports and Websphere is required • Experience in translating complex business requirements into system design, taking into account technical environment, ability of user group to interact with the system and expected life and volatility of system • Expertise in the design and administration of large RDBMS (DB2 is preferred), including preparing database scripts to update existing database schema, writing triggers and stored procedures, and general database maintenance a plus • Knowledge of 508 Compliance is preferred Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Must be organized and detail-oriented • Must have a team player attitude and willingness to learn • Proficient analytical and problem solving skills • Ability to translate business needs into system solutions • Ability to work as an effective team member in support of the team objectives This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated IT professional who consistently seeks personal challenges and professional rewards.
