"Looking for a NOC Manager in Westmont, IL Sentinel is seeking: NOC Manager Location: Westmont, IL Contract to hire The NOC Manager will supervise a 365/24/7 Network Operation Center's (NOC) shift operations and personnel. This individual will assign and manage the work load of shift personnel as well as escalate resource constraints to management. The main responsibilities will be to oversee the day to day NOC operations, escalations, ticketing, and communications with customers. This position is a 4 month contract to hire position located in Westmont, Illinois. Management Responsibilities Directly supervises 24/7 System Technician staff. Makes hiring, firing and review recommendations to management. Maintain, develop and improve reporting capabilities in the NOC. Makes regular reports to management on compliance with SLA objectives. Maintains the management and communication of incidents impacting SLAs Works with management to develop training plans for the NOC. Participates in the development of policies, standards and procedures for the NOC. Incident management ownership – including communication, reporting, and tracking Operational Responsibilities Oversees and monitors the performance of assigned computing systems through subordinates. Ensures systems are managed to client procedural and SLA requirements. Responds to and coordinates recovery of assigned computing systems in the event of an unexpected outage. Develops and/or deploys communication / escalation solutions designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of incident management. Assigns and manages work load of direct reports, escalates resource constraints to management. Provides technical leadership for the NOC. Facilitates cross-training. Working knowledge of enterprise systems - Linux, Windows, networks, databases and storage. Ensures approved policies, standards and procedures are followed in the NOC. Will perform routine and emergency administration of hosted systems and sub-systems in accordance with standard procedures and processes. Experience/Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related experience 5-7 years experience in complex distributed computing environments with 24x7 support requirements. Previous team leadership and client communication experience required Certification in Microsoft, Linux, databases or Cisco networking preferred, experience in all a plus. Linux Red Hat support in an enterprise environment is required Microsoft Server 2000/2003/2008 support is required Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information systems or related software engineering field.
