New discussion Some Sales People quit and leave, others quit and stay

Jason Profit 866-816-0991 has started a discussion: Some Sales People quit and leave, others quit and stay

"During the hiring process, many business owners and sales managers unknowingly seek the sales person who “fits in”. But, fits in to what? Without behavioral matching, (A third basemen is not going to be effective as a catcher, although they play the same game) you run the risk of hiring someone who may have succeeded, but not through use of the same behavior required to succeed in your position. Without analyzing the position and applying certain criteria (behavioral standards) necessary for success, you increase your chances for low productivity and turnover. Another common mistake made is that the guidelines for selecting and ranking top performers have not been defined properly. For example, sales statistics, in and of themselves, can be very misleading when used to rate performance. Example 1: Joe Sale has been selling for your company longer than anyone else. You hired him in 1996-97 when the economy was just beginning to really take off. Capital spending for most companies, namely your prospects and customers was at an all time high. His figures, when taking the good times into consideration make him look like a top producer. In other words Joe is the only one left from that fine bunch of order takers you hired that left for the promises of dot com promises. In fact he took over most of their accounts. Jason Profit 866-816-0991 has started a discussion: Why it is crucial that the Business Owner play an integral role in sales?

"The most important reason is answered in question form. Who has the most to gain and the most to lose? Many Business Owners make a mistake in actually putting the financial future in the hands of their sales team! We are not implying that you should not do everything possible to create a sales team that is self reliant and responsible for their own territories and sales quotas. However, when there is a break or disconnect between the leader and sales team, this is where a long-term pervasive problem begins. Request Your Complimentary CEO Growth Barrier Information Package Uncover the Top Sales & Growth Obstacles facing Business Owners Visit http://www.peakperformancesalestraining.com/CEOSolutions/CEOToolKit The Problems associated with the Sales Black Box. The black box view of sales is an attitude often found in Presidents, CEO’s or Business Owners who do not have a background in or an intimate knowledge of the problems inherent in sales. They set organizational goals that are dependent on revenue numbers and so present sales goals to the black box of the sales department and anxiously await the outcome without managing the intricacies of reaching the goal—namely they fail to oversee the microcosm of day to day activities that are required to meet the goal. This laissez faire mentality often results in a disappointed and frustrated CEO.
