This is regarding a job opportunity that exists with CSM. Description: * oversees quality function to ensure compliance with all Company, regulatory, Global Food Safety Initiative programs, Statistical Process Control, and Standard Operating Procedures in support of the plant's Quality Assurance & Food Safety department * develops and maintains clear objectives for direct reports * monitors /report on key quality measures; recommend corrective actions * provides training / coaching to associates to enable delivery of results in a continuous process improvement environment * ensures all associates understand the plant quality priorities * represents the Plant QA Manager as directed; assist in internal/external audits and regulatory inspections; support the plant efforts regarding Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) preparations and certification * Make day-to-day decisions on food safety and compliance to regulatory requirements and customer expectations; work with plant personnel at all levels to assure only safe, wholesome, and quality compliant ingredients, WIP (work-in-process), and finished goods are used/released * Provide daily leadership / supervision to the Quality Department; ensure training, capabilities, and development of Leads and Technicians on SPC, process control, product evaluation, and HACCP programs. * Assure execution and record keeping of monitoring programs; manage the release or hold of ingredients, WIP, and finished products * Assist in the development, training, and implementation of food safety, food quality, and process control procedures. * Maintain plant compliance to the HACCP Plan, GMPs, and quality programs; conduct regular food safety and security audits; report results, make corrective action recommendations; keep a log of open issues * Maintain daily product evaluation programs (scoring key quality indicators, shelf life studies, etc.). * Actively participate in timely off-quality and customer complaint investigations and continuous improvement processes (root cause analysis, SPC, problem solving, etc.) * Audit established food safety, quality, process control checks (raw ingredients, WIP, finished product, labeling and packaging) and pre-requite programs to ensure daily compliance. * Develop and maintain a record keeping system which provides immediate access to data and product records for a minimum of three years. * Develop job opportunities for QA Leads and QC Technicians through cross-training initiatives and setting clear objectives. Position Requirements * Bachelor level degree or equivalent in science related field * Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience ; demonstrated ability to organize, supervise, and direct a diverse work force; excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative, sense of urgency, and flexibility; assertive when necessary; work with minimum supervision * Minimum of 3-5 years experience working in a food manufacturing environment; knowledgeable and experienced in general food safety programs and policies - includes government regulations, FDA, USDA, AIB, HACCP, GMP, and Allergen Programs. * Versed in scientific methodology, continuous improvement, SPC, and other tools to reduce process variability ; analytical lab experience * Computer literate (Microsoft Works, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) * Read, write, and speak English; receive and provide clear instructions * Preferred but not required - experience in micro and sanitation, lab food testing, GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative), Kosher, functional in the use of a second language * Where appropriate to the products produced in the plant, maintain better processing school certification to deal with acidified foods Location - Houston, TX To apply please send resume to trupti.udeshi@rightthinginc.com"
