They need a Sr MySQL DBA as per JD below. Position : Senior DBA ( MySQL ) Location : Gurgaon or Bangalore depending on candidate's preference Education : B.Tech ( Comp Sc ) or Equivalent Experience : 3 - 7 Years Compensation : Commensurate with candidate caliber and experience Responsibilities You will be responsible for architecting and administering company's multi server clustered database. Challenges will include 1. Database deployment and providing deep forensic analysis for problem solving 2. Providing innovative technical solutions for performance optimization 3. Forming database, query and procedure design guidelines, and working with the development team to implement the guidelines 4. Backup and recovery strategies, DR planning and execution 5. Continuous technical upgradation 6. Setting database configuration and change management policy guidelines 7. Managing database change activities 8. Ensuring continuous health of the database 9. Automating monitoring for management by exception and Incidence response 10. You will setup, manage and mentor a small team of database administrators who will be responsible for day-to-day activities Skills and Competencies 1. Proven and deep competence on MySQL. Knowledge of setting up and managing clustered databases a must. 2. Knowledge of data modeling and DB optimization 3. Knowledge of Microsoft .Net 2.0 environment 4. Deep competence on database access using ODBC, JDBC 5. Drive, achievement, quality and service orientation 6. Ability to work under pressure 7. Excellent oral/written communication skills 8. Ability to define, implement and follow standards and procedures, evaluate problems and take appropriate actions 9.
