Subject: Senior Software Engineer – SS7/MAP Dimitris Lyris posted a job: Senior Software Engineer – SS7/MAP "Purpose The Software Engineer (SWE) works within an agile development team, using Scrum, together with other SWEs, led by a product architect designing and implementing product functionality. Other tasks for the SWE and the team are to improve the product based on customer experiences from using the product in live mobile networks. Typical SWE work is to design and implement product functionality and handle maintenance of deployed products/components. Content of the job A Software Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of requirements put on our products • SWE is responsible for designing, implementing and performing unit tests of features in one or more components • SWE is responsible for delivering quality work in time according with the company’s best practices. • SWE responsibility is also to maintain and support the products developed. This primarily includes contact with the customer support, and in some cases end-customers • SWE must be able to occasionally help with performing feature tests. • The SWE is also responsible for supporting other SWE in the implementation phase of a development project. • When needed supporting customer projects worldwide during installation of the product. • A senior SWE is also expected to be a lead designer and also a mentor to more junior SW Engineers Know-how required (Education, experience, specific knowledge) Personal skills • The SWE must be a driving force, be a person who takes initiative • The SWE must enjoy working closely with other colleagues in a team of test engineers and software developers when developing a product. • The SWE should be quality oriented • Able to analyze and solve problems. • Interested to learn and to share her/his knowledge to other colleagues. Professional skills Mandatory • M Sc (civilingenjör), B Sc (högskoleingenjör) or the equivalent • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in software development using C++ • Deep knowledge/experience in the SS7/MAP protocol • SQL, preferably Oracle RDB • Unix, preferably Solaris • Swedish language skills both verbally and in writing • English language skills both verbally and in writing Desirable • Experience from software development of HLR and/or HSS • Knowledge about TCAP and the lower levels in the SS7 stack • Knowledge about the Diameter protocol • Experience in Java • Experience in working with: • ClearCase • Maven • Design patterns • Scrum Location Stockholm, Sweden.
