Summary: The Software Application Developer performs programming activities and manages the complete life cycle for complex application components based on requirements. Identifies opportunities for improving software issues by working with customers and analyzes overall application technical design and develops detailed technical module applications for complex components. This position provides input to the development team in overall application technology design activities and assists in the development of time estimates for small/medium project deliverables.   *Essential function to successful job performance.   Responsibilities: Develops, tests, debugs, maintains and documents components of information systems applications* Collaborates with analysts and/or users on requirements and design of applications (may include testing)* Adheres to standards for software development* Employs software engineering techniques to perform software development work* Adheres to established process/procedural standards* Provides system specific support as required, both during the standard work day and after-hours and weekends* Requires a high degree of supervision* Regularly participates in meetings and is dependable as an internal/external resource on assigned projects* Other responsibilities as assigned Requirements: Able to adapt to constantly changing environment 5-7 years experience Functional knowledge of technical design alternatives and implications of each Functional knowledge of standard coding and testing techniques Functional knowledge of program migration process (change control procedures) Functional understanding of Service Oriented Architecture General experience with MS Office suite of products Experience MS Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010 .NET development IDE with emphasis on ASP.NET, C#.NET. Experience with MS-SQL Server 2005/2008 development Basic understanding of MS-SQL Reporting Service a plus, not required General experience with SharePoint General experience with .Net Nuke a plus, not required Effective communication skills, written, oral, and listening Strong internal client service skills Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience with at least one of the existing operating systems Must be able to work independently and as an effective team member Ascendum is an information systems and technology consulting firm with over 25 years of experience bringing the right people, process and technology together to solve our client*s business problems.
