Role: ETL Developer Location: Jersey City, NJ Duration: 6-18 Months Rate: Daily rate Qualification Required: • Minimum 2:1 or equivalent degree from a recognized university or Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized 4 year college or university. • Minimum 8 years of experience with SQL, databases (SQL Server and Oracle), DB scripts, Informatica, shell scripting and Perl. • Prior experience with high volume datawarehouse and databases in MS SQL Server at a major brokerage firm. • Expert in performance tuning of complex queries utilizing various DB best practices. • Must have experience in designing and developing highly scalable datawarehouse/database that will handle very large volumes of data globally. • Hands on in analyzing, developing and supporting the DB objects, Scripts, ETLs and other utilities required for business solutions as well as monitoring the performance of database objects. • Strong business understanding of Trade life cycle and hands on data analyst. • Demonstrated ability to communicate with business analysts/data analysts and technology teams. • Experience in data profiling, data quality assessment tools Experience Preferred : • Experience in data warehouse development, OLAP tools. • Experience of working with the Compliance function within an Investment Bank. • Strong IT skills and background, especially in the financial services industry; comfortable with computer based tools, processes and workflows. • Experience with Actimize and/or Mantas. Person Requirements: • Experience in SQL server, Oracle and Sybase. • Hands on experience in Infomatica, UNIX, Perl, Autosys, and Java. • Expert in data analysis and well acquainted with Trade life cycle. • Working knowledge with Version control (PVCS, CVS or Perforce), release/configuration Management • Expert in performance tuning of database objects. • Experience in supporting infrastructure components mainly Linux, Windows and Apache Tomcat. • Process oriented with focus on change and release management. • Proactive in monitoring the health of infrastructure, db objects and scripts. • Quick learner; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to attend many tasks simultaneously, with frequently changing priorities. • Must be independent and creative in approach to problems and issues and proactive. • Extremely organized, excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in documenting code releases. • Highly self-motivated with a confident “do the right thing” attitude. • Able to multi-task and prioritize a demanding and varied workload. • Excellent attention to detail. • Work long hours when required, to communicate with groups in other regions. • Ability to identify, appropriately escalate issues & risks & consider solutions.
